Why does That's Lease support IT4Kids?

In 2011, Henk Griffioen founded That’s Lease, a leasing company from the Bollenstreek region focused on innovative and customer-oriented mobility solutions. Alongside his work, Henk has been actively involved with IT4Kids for over ten years. We spoke with him about That’s Lease’s commitment to social responsibility and how his company makes a difference for children who would otherwise not have the opportunity to participate in sports.

How did you become involved with IT4Kids?
“That started about ten years ago. At the time, I was in frequent contact with Jordy Kool, the founder of IT4Kids, and I was immediately moved by the story behind it. IT4Kids has a mission that resonates with me personally: every child should have the chance to play sports, regardless of their financial situation. Sports have an enormous impact on a person’s well-being and development, and I strongly believe in the positive effects of sports.”

Why do you think it’s important for children to play sports?
“I only discovered the value of sports later in life. My parents weren’t into sports, so it wasn’t something I was exposed to from a young age. When I began participating in sports later on, I realized how it contributes physically and mentally. Sports can help relieve stress, provide a sense of empowerment, and build confidence. I believe every child should have that chance, especially those who are less fortunate. IT4Kids helps by supporting children who wouldn’t otherwise have access to sports. My company fully stands behind that mission.”

How does That’s Lease contribute to IT4Kids?
“With That’s Lease, we support IT4Kids in a variety of ways. Each year, we look at new initiatives we can launch. For example, at the beginning of our partnership, we collected hardware from our partners. For our 10th anniversary, we donated €50 for every newly purchased electric vehicle throughout the entire year. This year, we offered a lot for the IT4Kids gala. Every year, we consider what more we can do, and the great thing is that there are always so many possibilities!”

What does social responsibility mean to That’s Lease?
“Social responsibility is in our DNA. As a successful company, I believe we have a duty to give back to society. A saying that’s important to me is: ‘If you can’t share, you can’t multiply.’ After all, growth is not achieved alone but with those around you. This is where sports play a unifying role. Children learn social skills and how to build relationships in a team setting.”

How do you view the partnership with IT4Kids?
“I look back on the past years with pride and joy. What I really appreciate is the feedback IT4Kids provides to its donors. They truly show where the donations go and the impact of their work. It’s wonderful to see concrete results and to know that we’re helping with projects that are close to home, here in the Netherlands.
